Now that we are done – My note of gratitude
Dear Esteemed Members of the Nigerian Bar Association,
THANK YOU
I write with profound gratitude and a deep sense of fulfillment to express my thanks to all of you for making the last two years truly memorable. It has been an honor to serve this great association and to work alongside passionate and dedicated colleagues who are committed to upholding the highest standards of our profession.
My heartfelt thanks goes to the other members of the National Executive, and especially to My President, Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau,OON,SAN for allowing us to achieve what we did. Your passion for the bar and commitment to people is matchless. You worked extremely hard and I learned so much working with you and the entire Executive Committee.
One of the highlights of my tenure was working closely with Akorede Habeeb Lawal as National Publicity Secretary. Habeeb made collaboration effortless. He was humble and self-assured. He shone the spotlight on others and took joy in seeing them succeed. There was only one goal: the betterment of the NBA. Thank you, Habeeb, for your heart of gold.
I extend my deepest gratitude to every Secretariat Staff member and to the entire NBA for your support; you were the driving force behind our achievements. I am deeply thankful for the opportunity to have served you.
During this time, we gave it our all. We left no stone unturned in fulfilling the oath we took. Now that it has come to an end, we can stand tall and proud, knowing that we can confidently say, ‘We truly served.’
As I pass the baton, I do so with immense pride in what we have accomplished together and with great hope for the future of our association in the hands of the new National Executive Committee. Let us continue to work together, united in purpose and driven by our shared commitment to justice, equity, and the rule of law.
