I felicitate the Chairman, Branch Officers, Branch leaders and the entire members of the great NBA Warri Branch on the occasion of the 2021 Annual Law Week, particularly for the opportunity to witness and celebrate a post covid lockdown Law Week.
I commend the Branch for the theme of this year’s Law Week “Contemporary Issues for Sustainable Development in Nigeria”. This theme could not have come at a better time in our National Life, when the country is in dire need of urgent surgical reform and clear direction. There is no doubt that intellectual interrogation of contemporary national issues has become customary to Warri Bar activism.
I wish to note also, as I have reliably gathered that the Branch shall be celebrating as part of the Law Week activities, the 50 Years Call To Bar of three legendary legal titans from Delta State, namely: Chief Thompson Joseph Onomigbo Okpoko, OON, SAN (Past President, NBA), Chief Alaowei Broderick Cherima Bozimo and Dr. Young Osehvire Esombi (who unfortunately passed away a few days ago – may his soul rest eternally in peace). I wish the remaining two bar leaders many more years filled with good health and grace of God.
