Adesina Adegbite, the outgoing General Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), has expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the association’s members for their unwavering support during his two-year tenure. Adegbite, who was elected on July 16, 2022, and officially assumed office on August 26, 2022, handed over to his successor, Dr. Mobolaji Idris Ojibara, on August 29, 2024.

In a statement reflecting on his time in office, Adegbite emphasized his commitment to serving the NBA with integrity, humility, transparency, and diligence. He acknowledged the challenges faced during his tenure but expressed satisfaction in fulfilling the promises he made during his campaign.

“I promised you a Tech-driven Secretariat; I promised to promote the Welfare of the Secretariat Staff and ensure coordinated synergy amongst Sections and Committees of NBA. I am delighted that despite all the challenges, I managed to deliver on those promises,” Adegbite stated.

Among his key achievements, Adegbite highlighted the successful implementation of the Digital Stamp initiative, the establishment of a functional and well-equipped digital library at the NBA Secretariat, and the launch of the NBA Car Sticker project on his final day in office. He also noted the upward review of staff salaries as a significant milestone achieved during his tenure.

“The NBA Secretariat is a work in progress, but we were able to make considerable improvements on what we met on the ground. I am highly elated that I was able to contribute my quota to the development of our Secretariat and ultimately, our great Association,” he added.

Adegbite also took the opportunity to congratulate his successor, Dr. Mobolaji Idris Ojibara, expressing his hope for even greater achievements during Ojibara’s tenure.

In closing, Adegbite extended his deepest thanks to the NBA members for the honor and privilege of serving as General Secretary, reiterating his gratitude with a heartfelt, “Thank you, Thank you, and Thank you.”

As the NBA moves forward under new leadership, Adegbite’s tenure will be remembered for the significant strides made in advancing the association’s Secretariat and enhancing its operational efficiency.
