Preparations are in full swing for the African Bar Association’s (AFBA) Medical Law Committee Annual Conference, a groundbreaking event that aims to reshape the future of healthcare delivery in Africa. Scheduled to take place in Nigeria’s capital, Abuja, from February 19 to 20, 2025, the conference is expected to attract top legal and medical professionals from across the continent.
Themed “Towards a Legal & Ethical Practice of Healthcare Delivery in Africa: Advocating for Best Ethical Standards,” the conference will focus on fostering robust legal frameworks and ethical guidelines to improve healthcare systems across Africa.

Keynote speaker Conte Healihwelhe will address the critical topic “Health Care in Africa: Cosmetic Surgery and Regulation – Consent to Medical Treatment,” sparking dialogue on the ethical challenges surrounding modern medical practices.
