Niger Delta ex-agitators in the Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni area of Rivers state have appealed to the newly appointed administrator of the Niger Delta Amnesty Program (PAP), Dennis Otuaro, to prioritise the lingering issue of ex-agitators exclusion in the programmes and activities of the federal government agency.
The group who are members of the Niger Delta Liberation Force (NDLF) led by Amb. Sobomabo Jackrich (aka Egberipapa), commended President Tinubu for the appointment of Dennis Otuaro as the new administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Program (PAP).
Speaking in a statement in Port Harcourt, the state capital, the leader of the ONELGA zone, Amb. Kelly Rufus described the appointment as very appropriate and a square peg in a square hole and called on stakeholders and ex-agitators of the region to throw their weights behind the new Presidential Amnesty Boss to enable him to succeed in his mandates.
They noted that their Supreme Leader, Jackrich is pleased with Otuaro’s appointment and expressed the preparedness to cooperate with the new appointee.
“…we appeal that upon getting into office, Chief Dennis Otuaro will address all pending issues with ex-agitators which concerns exclusion to enable us to continue to dwell in peace and harmony in the entire Niger Delta region.
“The NDLF is equally calling on the youths, stakeholders and our fellow ex-agitators to cooperate and give their maximum support to the new Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme.
“The Niger Delta Liberation Force and the Leadership of our Supreme Leader, Egberipapa is in support of this appointment and we thank the President for the appointment,” they stated.
Furthermore, the people also urged the new PAP Administrator to ensure that he closes every loophole that is impending on the success of the programmes and activities of the federal government interventionist agency with the view to foster lasting peace and sustainable development in the oil-rich region.
They expressed confidence in the ability of Otuaro to turn around the fortunes of the Presidential Amnesty Program, adding that his appointment is an indication that President Tinubu is committed to the good and development of the Niger Delta region.
