The Arewa Young Lawyers’ Forum has concluded plans for her first Summit. This was confirmed via a statement released by the Chairman of the forum, Mr O.D Jimoh. He stated that plans are on top gear by the current leadership of the forum to conduct election and handover power to the new leaders. He said the Executive Committee of the forum met at the ongoing NBA AGC in Port Harcourt and one of the discussions and decisions reached is to among other things kick start the process of leadership change of the forum.
As part of this plan, the forum decides to hold a two day Summit where the election will be done and new leaders inaugurated. It is to be recalled that the Executive body in the year 2019 set up a summit committee, Chaired by Mr Dayo Ashonibare, who was then the Vice Chairman, YLF National Council to organize the program but due to Covid-19 pandemic, the committee could not go ahead with the plan.
Immediately after the Executive Committee meeting, the executive committee met with the Summit Committee and we both agreed to continue with the process forthwith to organize the maiden summit.
Some members of the committee as inaugurated by the Arewa YLF Chairman are Dayo Ashonibare – Chairman, Ibrahim Shehu – Alternate Chairman,
Haruna Musa Muhammed, Alemeru Adekunle Mathew,
Audu Umaru, Ahmed Khalil, Promise Ajumebor, Kazeem Egbewole, Umaru Abdullahi Chiroma, Usman Ashafa, Fumen Isaac Gandu, Dauda Rahila – Secretary and others.
The summit committee assure the executive committee and indeed all members that it will organize the best summit all members will be proud of and promises to release the details of the program to the public soon.
