Ataga: witness’ lack of composure stalls Chidinma’s trial

The trial of Chidinma Ojukwu, prime suspect in the murder of SuperTV chief, Usifo Ataga, before a Lagos High Court at Tafa Balewa Square was stalled yesterday because a witness was not properly composed to give evidence.

At the resumed hearing of the matter, prosecution  counsel, Yusuf Sule, asked the court to adjourn the trial till today, explaining that the witness to be called just arrived at the court from Asaba, Delta State, and was not well composed to give evidence.

“We would therefore be asking for an adjournment for tomorrow, on the grounds that the witness we are calling just came in from Asaba this morning and he is not really composed,” he said.

The first defendant’s counsel, Onwuka Egwu, did not object to the application.

The court adjourned the case till today for continuation of trial.

Chidinma Ojukwua a 300-level Mass Communication student of the University of Lagos,(first defendant), and two others over Ataga’s murder.
