The ministerial nominee from Kaduna state, Balarabe Abbas Lawal slumped during screening on Wednesday, leading the senate to adjourn proceedings.
Balarabe Lawal slumped as he took questions from some of the senators after reading his CV.
The security officials rushed to his aid as the senators watched the unfolding scene in disbelief and shock.
The incident forced the senate go into a close session.
Balarabe Lawal was rushed to the hospital.
Balarabe Abbas Lawal, born in 1958, was nominated by President Bola Tinubu, to replace Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna state.
Lawal served as secretary to the state government during the tenure of El-Rufai from 2015 till 2023 May.
He is expected to fill the vacant portfolio of minister of environment.
