Breaking: Tinubu appoints Bianca Ojukwu, six others new ministers

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Bianca Odinaka Odumegwu-Ojukwu and seven others as new ministers following a major cabinet reshuffle announced on Wednesday.

Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu has been named the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, while Dr. Jumoke Oduwole takes on the role of Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment.

Idi Mukhtar Maiha has been appointed as the Minister of Livestock Development.

Additionally, Tinubu appointed Rt. Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata as Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, and Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.

Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi has been named the Minister of Labour and Employment.

Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad has also been appointed as the Minister of State for Education.

In addressing the newly appointed ministers, Tinubu urged them, along with their reassigned colleagues, to view their roles as a call to serve the nation.

He emphasized the administration’s commitment to setting Nigeria on a path of irreversible growth and urged them to apply their best efforts toward achieving the government’s priorities.

Earlier, the president had sacked ministers. Those sacked are Barr. Uju-Ken Ohanenye, Minister of Women Affairs; Lola Ade-John, Minister of Tourism; Prof Tahir Mamman, Minister of Education; Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo, Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development and Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim, Minister of Youth Development.
