GOODWILL MESSAGE TO FIDA NIGERIA ON THE OCCASION OF ITS AGM 2024
It is with immense pleasure and profound respect that I extend my heartfelt goodwill and best wishes to the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) Nigeria on the auspicious occasion of its 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in the vibrant city of Kano.
Over the years, FIDA Nigeria has become synonymous with justice, advocacy, and empowerment, working tirelessly to ensure that the legal system is accessible and equitable for all women and children in Nigeria. FIDA’s unwavering dedication to protecting the rights of women and children, providing legal aid to the underprivileged, and advocating for legislative reforms has left an indelible mark on our society. The courage and commitment demonstrated by the members of FIDA in addressing issues such as domestic violence, sexual harassment, human trafficking, and gender-based discrimination are truly commendable.
This year’s AGM in Kano is not just a meeting of minds but a celebration of the resilience and strength of Nigerian women. Kano, with its rich cultural heritage and history, provides a fitting backdrop for this gathering, symbolizing the unity and diversity that FIDA embodies. The theme of this AGM resonates deeply with the core values of FIDA, emphasizing the importance of solidarity, innovation, and forward-thinking in our quest for justice and equality.
I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the visionary leadership of the Country Vice President, Mrs. Amina Suzanah Agbaje and her team. Your strategic initiatives and tireless efforts have propelled FIDA Nigeria to new heights, enhancing its influence and effectiveness in advocating for women’s rights. The collaborative spirit you foster within the organization is exemplary, inspiring all members to contribute their best towards our common goals.
To the members of FIDA Nigeria, your unwavering dedication, professionalism, and passion for justice are the driving forces behind the organization’s success. Your contributions, both individually and collectively, have significantly advanced the cause of women’s rights in Nigeria. As you engage in discussions and deliberations during this AGM, may you be inspired by the progress made and motivated by the challenges ahead.
As we look to the future, let us reaffirm our commitment to the ideals of FIDA. Let us continue to strive for a society where every woman and child can live free from fear and discrimination, where justice is not a privilege but a fundamental right. The path ahead may be challenging, but with our collective resolve, we can overcome any obstacle and achieve our shared vision of equality and justice for all.
In closing, I extend my best wishes for a successful and productive AGM. May your discussions be fruitful, your resolutions impactful, and your spirit unyielding. Together, let us build a future where the rights and dignity of every individual are upheld and respected.
