Egbe Amofin Oodua Reaffirms Dele Adesina, SAN as preferred Candidate for NBA Presidency

On Saturday, 22nd February, 2020, the meeting of Egbe Amofin Oodua held in Oyo state at Aare Afe Babalola Bar Centre, Iyaganku Ibadan, the Headquarter of Yoruba Nation.

The meeting was headed by Chief Adeniyi Akintola SAN who ably represented Chief Olanipekun,SAN who was unavoidably absent due to family engagements.

Chief Akintola,SAN reaffirmed the position of egbe which was discussed and agreed at the last meeting that Dele Adesina,SAN is the choice candidate to run for the NBA Presidency. In his exact words “It is not about Dele, it is about you and I, this is our institution and Yoruba’s interest should not be truncated”.

Mrs Priscilla Kuye also stated that “Dr. Ajibade is a capable man, his time will come, let him step down for Deacon Dele Adesina,SAN. Yorubas need to unite, I don’t mind leading the delegation. He must step down, this is the time for Yorubas to unite.”

At the meeting Chairmen of several branches were present, and the house unanimously concurred with the reaffirmation of Dele Adesina,SAN being the choice candidate of the Egbe Amofin Oodua for the NBA presidency.

A press statement was issued by Idrees Abiodun Mikaheel Esq of NBA Osogbo Nation, where he stated that the meeting which was well attended “is symbolic as it appears more a regathering for reconfirmation of the choice of Deacon Dele Adesina SAN as the favoured Aspirant for the OPNBA.”

In attendance were Senior Advocates of Nigeria, Attorneys General of Ondo and Oyo States, Former President of NBA Madam Kuye SAN, Dipo Olasope SAN and hundreds of members from virtually all branches of the NBA.

Also in attendance were the NBA Ikeja Chairman, Prince Dele Oloke, NBA Ilorin Chairman Mai Akande Esq, NBA Offa Branch Chairman, NBA Ilesa Branch Chairman Femi Fafowora Esq.

Among other Aspirants for some of the NBA offices in attendance were Yinka Sokoya Esq (Publicity Secretary), Seun Ajoba (1st Vice), Charles Ajiboye (Assistant Publicity Secretary) who used the opportunity to invite members of the egbe to a Chess Tournament for Lawyers organized by him coming up by April.

Idrees Abiodun Mikaheel Esq of NBA Osogbo Nation also said “I am happy and proud to be counted among those stirring the ship of Egbe to the promise land.”

In the remarks of Dele Adesina, SAN he stated that “I created the section of Business Law and I have the idea to create more opportunities for young lawyers.
