In a press conference addressed by Dr. Adekunle Ojo, SAN, President General of the Christ Apostolic Church Grammar School Efon Alaaye Alumni Association, several distinguished individuals graced the event, among whom are: Mrs. Morenike B. Shitta, Secretary of the Reunion Committee; Pastor Ayo Akinleye, National Financial Secretary of the association; and Elder Joseph Ranti Ojo, Adekunle Ojo, SAN, who presided over the conference, and Pastor Bamidele Afolabi.
The conference not only provided valuable insights into the upcoming 63rd Founders’ Day Anniversary and Global Reunion Festival but also charged the government to improve the Education System in Ekiti and Nigeria generally.
Adekunle Ojo SAN stressed the importance of education in fighting poverty, calling for a reevaluation of the educational system in Africa to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed for the nation’s prosperity. He stated “Education remains the weak link, which is often ignored, in the fight against poverty and developmental growth. No nation and no people can successfully fight against poverty, and grow in the face of lack of education and inability to access equal right to education. Education will not only enable you understand your rights, it will also enable you employ your rights to tackle and defeat poverty.”

When asked about his perspective on the current state of education in the country, he expressed deep concern. He pointed out that those entrusted with the responsibility of maintaining educational standards are not exerting their utmost effort. He emphasized that the quality of education has declined, and there has been a significant loss of moral and discipline. He also acknowledged that a substantial portion of moral decay originates within the family.
