*Says Theme Of the Event On Rape And Domestic Violence Is Apt
*Commends FIDA For Consistently Living Up To Its Mission
The Immediate Past National Assistant Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association, Ewenode O. William, has felicitated with the Kwara State Chapter of International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) on its 2021 Biennial Week.
William, who happens to be the former NBA Welfare (Covid-19) Committee, in a goodwill message made available to TheNigeriaLawyer, said the theme of the event which is on rape and domestic violence is apt
“I wish to felicitate with the International Federation of Women Lawyers aka (FIDA), Kwara State on the occasion of their Biennial FIDA WEEK,*2021 starting from 10th to 16th October, 2021.
“The Week-long event with the theme Speak Out #Rape # Domestic Violence is apt and timely.
“It is my candid position that any conversation on the twin subject of Rape and Domestic Violence must be encouraged at all cost because of the negative effect on the Victims, the Family, and the Society at large and as such there must be a continuous conversation on this *twin evil until they are reduced drastically in our Country,” William said
He further commended FIDA for consistency in living up to its mission which is to protect women and the girl child amongst others.
He said, “It is a known fact that FIDA has consistently lived up to its Mission which includes protection of the Woman and the Girl child and the Outreach and Visitation Sessions as well as the in-House Seminar of this Week will, in no doubt impact on the citizenry of Kwara State.
“I specially commend the FIDA Kwara Chairperson, Mrs. Gloria Okoduwa, and her committed team of executives, the Speakers, the Planning Committee, and all the Members of FIDA Kwara State as well as their Supporters for the bold step in holding this Biennial FIDA Week.
“It is my honest believe that Kwara FIDANS will take advantage of the lessons to be derived from the rich package contained in this Week-long event.
God bless FIDA Kwara
God bless NBA”
