The International Federation of Women Lawyers [FIDA] Nigeria, Lagos Branch announces her annual Law Week which is set to kick off on Tuesday, the 31st of October 2023 at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs [N.I.I.A], Kofo Abayomi, Victoria Island, Lagos with the theme –“Gender Based Violence- Stemming The Tide.”
The team-lead for Media and Publicity, Uchenna Nwadialo disclosed this on Monday the 28th of September, 2023.
It is noted, that this year’s programme will be held in commemoration of the United Nations 2023 International Day for the ‘Elimination of Violence Against Women’ which offers us a great opportunity to continue with our campaigns and various activities to achieve our objectives.
FIDA is a non-governmental, non-religious, non- political and not-for–profit voluntary association of women lawyers called to the practice of law in Nigeria. Its core objective include – promoting, protecting and preserving the rights and well-being of indigent women, children and the vulnerable persons in our society.
The Law Week Planning Committee equally revealed the schedule of programmes and events for the 2023 FIDA Lagos Law Week billed to hold from Tuesday, the 31st of October – Friday, the 3rd of November, 2023.
It was stated that the law week will have key stakeholders and eminent personalities in attendance, thus promises to be engaging and intellectually fulfilling.
The Chairperson of the law week, Barrister Adanna C. Madu assured members of an activity-packed week. She said there will be interactive sessions on day [1], the annual AGM on day [2], charity visitations on day [3] and the grand finale, a full ambience of royalty, the law week dinner tagged ‘Royal Emerald’ on day [4], this will afford members and lawyers the opportunity to experience the luxury in royalty. The law week dinner is scheduled to hold at the prestigious Lagos Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
