FIDA Nigeria Badagry Branch Cordially Invites You to the 2023 Law Week: ‘Empowering Women, Empowering Girl Children, Empowering the World’, Dec 6th-8th


In a bid to champion the cause of empowerment and equality, FIDA Nigeria Badagry Branch is set to host its much-anticipated 2023 Law Week from the 6th to the 8th of December. The theme for this year’s event is “Empower a Woman, Empower a Girl Child, Empower the World,” reflecting the commitment to fostering positive change.

Day 1: Opening Ceremony and Awards (6th December 2023)

Kicking off the Law Week is the grand Opening Ceremony and Awards on December 6th at the De Santiago Milan Hotel & Suites, Amuwo-Odofin Lagos, starting at 10 am. The event promises to be enlightening and inspiring, featuring distinguished guests and legal luminaries. Notably, the keynote speaker for the opening ceremony is the esteemed Titilola Akinlawon SAN, bringing a wealth of experience to the discourse. The panelists include Abimbola Akeredolu SAN, Jean Chiazor Anishere SAN, Rev Fr Sylvester Oladunjoye, and High Chief (Ichie) Fred Isoh, ensuring a diverse and insightful discussion.

Day 2: Annual General Meeting (7th December 2023)

On the second day of the Law Week, FIDA Badagry Branch will hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at 9 am at the FIDA Badagry Branch Secretariat. This session provides an opportunity for members to discuss important matters, strategize, and strengthen their collective commitment to the mission of FIDA.

Day 3: Community Engagement and Dinner (8th December 2023)

The third day is dedicated to community engagement, starting with a visit to FIDA Badagry Branch’s adopted Children’s ward, Mother and Child Care Centre, and SCIAN (Center for the disabled) in Amuwo-Odofin at 9 am/12 noon. This outreach underscores FIDA’s holistic approach to empowerment, reaching out to vulnerable groups and making a meaningful impact.

Concluding the Law Week is a Dinner event on the 8th of December, 2023, at 6 pm at De Santiago Milan Hotel & Suites, Amuwo-Odofin Lagos. This social gathering provides an opportunity for participants to network, unwind, and celebrate the shared commitment to the empowerment of women and girls.

The Chairperson of the FIDA Nigeria, Badagry Branch, Adaku Mbama, MCIArb., and the Law Week Committee Chairperson Joyce Oduah, FICMC, express optimism that this event will not only raise awareness about crucial issues but also inspire concrete actions towards a more empowered and inclusive society.
