The much anticipated meeting of the Forum of Abia State Young Lawyers Chairmen was held as scheduled at Ibiza Resort Umuahia with The Chairman YLF Umuahia, Mr. Obinnaya Goodluck Ugochukwu, Chairman YLF Aba, Mr. Adighibe Emmanuel, the Chairman YLF Ohafia, Mr. Odiba Eke Kalu and the Chairman YLf Ukwa Mr. Ugochukwu Oluoha all in attendance.
Mr. Ugochukwu Oluoha was unanimously returned as The Chairman of the Forum while Mr. Odiba Eke Kalu was returned as the Secretary.
The Forum frowned at the activities of fake Lawyers in the State more particularly the Ohafia axis of the State and called on security agencies to assist the various NBA branches in the State to see that those involved in this dastard act are brought to book.
The Forum further considered the Welfare of Young Lawyers in Abia State and the way forward.
On the above, the Forum agreed to meet with some personalities in Abia State to seek their support and partnership.
The Forum condemned in strongest terms the way and manner security agencies particularly the Nigerian Police handle Young Lawyers.
On the issue of the way and manner the Nigerian Police and other Security agencies handle Young Lawyers, and the activities of fake Lawyers, the forum agreed to pay a courtesy visit to the Commissioner of Police Abia State and Heads of other Security agencies in Abia State.
On the Issue of the forth coming NBA National Election, the Forum unequivocally agreed to adopt all the candidates adopted by the Eastern Bar Forum and would only make known their preference on candidates for offices where Eastern Bar Forum did not take decision on.
The Forum would take decision on candidates for offices not considered by EBF upon thorough scrutiny of the candidates by the Forum.
Finally, the Forum urged the leadership of the Eastern Bar Forum to immediately inaugurate the newly appointed Eastern Bar Forum, Young Lawyers Forum Executives. As we all know, the EBF YLF have remained without Executives since the expiration of the tenure of Mr. Ogbom Goodluck Ogbom led Executives
