Ehie declares 27 seats of Martin Amaewhule faction who decamped to APC vacant

Governor Siminalayi Fubara is currently presenting the 2024 Appropriation Bill before the Rt. Hon. Ehie Edison-led House of Assembly in Government House, Port Harcourt.
Before the arrival of Fubara, the Speaker had declared the seats of all 27 lawmakers who recently defected to the APC vacant in line with section 109 (1) and (2) of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 as amended.
There are reports that the member representing OPobo/Nkoro State Constituency, Adolphus Timothy Orubi-enimigha was also elected as the Leader of the Edison Ehie-led Assembly.
The River State Government had also on Wednesday morning rolled out bulldozers and other heavy equipment for the demolition of the State House of Assembly.
Our Correspondent reports that there is tight security around the Rivers State Government House entrance this morning as the budget was being presented.
A State High Court order presided over Justice Danagogo had yesterday recognised the Edison Ehie led-faction of Rivers House of Assembly.
The Court, sitting in Port Harcourt, presided over by Justice D.M Danagogo restrained Martin Amaewhule led 27 from the use of Rivers State House of Assembly pending the hearing and determination of a suit brought before it by the Ehie-led faction of the state legislature.
It also restrained the Martin Amaewhule led Lawmakers of the Assembly from stopping factional Speaker Edison Ehie from performing his legislative duties pending the determination of the suit
