The Governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf, has taken decisive action by revoking the contract for the construction of a five-kilometer road in Garko Local Government Area (LGA) due to the contractor’s failure to mobilize to the site.
This decision was announced in a statement released by Sanusi Tofa, the Director-General of Media and Publicity to the Governor, on Monday.
Governor Yusuf assured the people of Garko LGA that a new and reliable contractor would be appointed within the next few days to ensure the project’s timely completion.
The governor also expressed his commitment to establishing a modern health facility in Garko Town, aimed at bringing healthcare services closer to the community.
The statement further highlighted the governor’s appreciation for the local community’s continued support and his administration’s determination to maintain the momentum of progress.
Additionally, Governor Yusuf conducted an on-site assessment of the Kafinchiri Irrigation Project, valued at N2.5 billion, which is part of the state’s agricultural transformation drive.
The project aims to promote all-year-round farming, enhance food security, and drive economic growth in the state.
Governor Yusuf emphasized the significance of the project, stating that it is a vital component of his administration’s efforts to promote continuous agricultural production in the state.
He urged the residents of Garko and surrounding areas to take full advantage of the opportunities offered by the project to improve their socio-economic conditions and contribute to the state’s overall development.
