Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State has pleaded with President Bola Tinubu to deploy drones at the boundaries between the state and its neighbours.
The governor disclosed this while speaking with State House correspondents after meeting behind closed doors with the President at the State House, Abuja.
He said he was at the Presidential Villa to discuss boundary issues with the President.
He said, “Actually, I met with Mr. President about security and boundary issues in my state. And I believe that the meeting will still continue because few things will need some other officials also to participate.
“Cross River State boundaries is quite very big. You can drive about five to 600 kilometres along the boundary. And in between those boundaries, we just have about four military platforms, which I’m trying to tell Mr. President that we do need more and we do need some high-level security more than what we have now and then some drones to also fly the area to make it safe.”
