I am writing to express my deepest condolences on the loss of a distinguished member of the legal profession and former Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association Ikeja Branch, Mr. Yinka Farounbi. It is with a heavy heart that I learned of his passing on the 12th of October.
Mr. Farounbi was known for his unwavering commitment to the service of the Bar. From the early years of my service to the Bar, I witnessed his dedication to the legal community firsthand. Mr. Farounbi was one of those exceptional Branch Chairmen who made the relationship and communication between the national body, its branches and its members seamless. His commitment to the legal profession was commendable and left an ineradicable mark. He is a true Bar man.
His loss is deeply felt, and his absence will be sorely missed. Nevertheless, it is heartening to acknowledge that Mr. Farounbi touched numerous lives and left a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire future generations of legal practitioners. He may no longer be with us physically, but his impact and influence remain alive.
I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, members of the Ikeja Branch, members of his law firm, Yinka Oyeniyi Farounbi & Co., and all members of the Nigerian Bar Association who had the honour of knowing him.
May his light shine on, and may the memories of his dedicated service and contributions to the legal community be a source of comfort during this difficult time.
Please accept my deepest sympathies and know my thoughts and prayers are with you and the entire NBA Ikeja Branch.
