His Eminence, Alhaji (Dr.) Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III CFR, mni, the Sultan of Sokoto and President General of the Jama’atu Nasril Islam has declared Sunday, 24th May, 2020 as the first day of Shawwal 1441AH(DAY OF EID-UL-FITR).
I wish all my Muslim learned friends Eid-El-Fitr Mubarak.
May Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’alaa accept your fasting, your prayers, your worship and all your good deeds done in the month of Ramadan.
*Treat this Eid like any other Eid. Do all of the sunnahs and any other practices of Eid.
*Give your Zakat Al-Fitr if you are yet to do so because this purifies your deen and makes up for any shortcomings during Ramadan.
*Pray the Eid prayer at home.
*Congratulate people via the telephone or online!
*Observe your Shitta Shawwal which drives its significance from the prophetic saying that, “Whoever fasts the month of Ramadan and then follows it with six days of fasting in the month of Shawwal, it will be as if he had fasted the year through.” (Sahîh Muslim).
