My Distinguished Colleagues, as we begin a new week in the month of June, let us continue to remind ourselves of our duties to uphold and promote the rule of law and foster the course of justice; to maintain a high standard of professional conduct by avoiding behaviour unbecoming a legal practitioner.
As ministers in the temple of justice, it is expected of us not to do any act that may obstruct, delay or adversely affect in other ways the administration of justice. We must at all times treat the court with respect, dignity and honour, whether we are appearing in a physical court house or during a virtual court proceedings. I believe doing this will engender a great relationship between the Bar and the Bench and reduce incidents of petition writing against lawyers.
