The Kano State Government has demanded an apology from Sahara Reporters for allegedly including Governor Abdullahi Ganduje among the three governors accused of embezzling public funds.
This is contained in a statement, signed by Mr Muhammed Garba, the Commissioner for Information, Youths and Sports, and made available to newsmen on Sunday.
According to the statement, the online media reported that Ganduje was one of three governors charged with financial crimes by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Garba threatened legal action against the publishers if they did not retract the story and apologize to the government.
The statement condemned the report, claiming it lacked the substance of an investigative story and was a deliberate attempt to tarnish the governor’s and the state’s image.
Kano State, it said, was one of the few states in the Federation that consistently paid its employees’ salaries on time.
“Gov. Ganduje has not acquired any billions of naira or stashed away any fund that could be used for workers’ salaries in an era of e-banking services,” the statement said.
