Knowing God, seeking and remaining on the path of eternity has been described as the ultimate in life. Christians have therefore being charged with humility and diligence in their daily activities. The Chief Judge of Kogi State, His Lordship, Justice Josiah Job Mejedi gave the charge on Sunday in a brief remark at Evangelical Church Winning All, ECWA Gospel, Lokongoma, Phase II, Lokoja
Mejedi, who was in the church for a Thanksgiving service by newly appointed Justice Ojoma Haruna for her elevation, commended the celebrant for being innovative, resourceful, proactive, and faithful. He urged Christians to appreciate life and good health, explaining that not much can be achieved in their absence.
The program coincided with the Minister’s Appreciation service of the church, and he commented on the spirit of love and unity, which he noted should define a church and not the size of its physical structure.
An obviously elated Justice Ojoma, in tearful joy, thanked God, the CJ, the church, family members, and friends for standing by her through the years. She said left to her enemies she would not have been anywhere close to her present station in life. She, however, said God has vindicated her and made everything good in his own time.
After rendering a hymn, ‘amazing Grace’ she asked the congregation to always remember her, other judicial officials, and the country at large in their prayers.
In his message to the cpngregation, Elder Ibrahim Umar, also a judicial official, said ministers are overseers appointed by God over the people and urged the congregation to accord them deserved respect and care. He noted that God was sure to equip his messengers, but the laity should show appreciation for their invaluable services, describing the minister, Rev. Sunday Sheneni as an accessible man of prayers.
The service that featured song ministrations, Bible readings, and goodwill messages was attended by many worshippers. Other speakers included Rev Sheneni, Justice Gwatana, Elder Olumide Adeyeye, Barrister Ibukun Olukotun, Brother Victor, Elder Bode Timothy, Brother Daniel and Dr Olukotun.
