Kogi election: SDP chieftain hails Egbetokun

A chieftain of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, and Kogi West Director General Muri/Sam Campaign Council, Hon Dada Fehinti has commended the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Kayode Egbetokun for his prompt reaction and intervention in the Anyigba invasion of the house of the State Director General of the campaign, Sheikh Jibril Ibrahim.

Dada, a former Ijumu Local Government Chairman, in a press release on Thursday, said “the evil going on in Kogi State shall tomorrow haunt the entire country if not immediately addressed”.

He described IGP Egbetokun’s response as reassuring in the nation’s democracy.

“Most of the insecurity prevalent in the country emanated from political sponsored thuggery. The idea that the people’s wish must be suppressed and individuals have their ways is not too good in a democracy.

“Nigerians must rise up to condemn the invasion and other barbaric escapades of those who are desperate for power,” he said.

Dada reaffirmed his confidence in the security agencies with the exception of a few who are compromising.

He condemned the killing of innocent security officers, which, according to him, shows the level of the respect some people in the corridor of power have for life.

The DG expressed optimism that the SDP candidate, Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, will win with a large margin that shall shock his persecutors.
