Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has incorporated social inclusion as a key developmental pillar within the T.H.E.M.E.S. Plus Agenda for Lagos State in an effort to foster social inclusion across all segments of society.
This commitment aims to ensure that every resident, regardless of their background, feels a sense of belonging in the state.
These sentiments were expressed by Mr. Mobolaji Ogunlende, the Honourable Commissioner for the Ministry of Youth and Social Development, during the grand opening ceremony of the Home Cinema for the Lagos State Motherless Home (Lions Village).
Hon. Ogunlende stressed the importance of social inclusion and called on other individuals and organisations to follow Triangle Nigeria’s example in assisting the less privileged.
He referred to the project as “laudable, incredible, a giant stride, and a breakthrough.”
“The Ministry of Youth and Social Development is committed to partnering with individuals and organisations to promote social inclusion. This government is attentive to the needs of the public. Today’s event should spark discussions on how to improve the lives of the less fortunate in our society.”
Pharm (Mrs) Toyin Oke-Osanyintolu, the Permanent Secretary, expressed her gratitude to Triangle Nigeria for providing a Home Cinema to the motherless children, which will help them feel a sense of belonging similar to their peers in regular families.
Mr. Kehinde Awoyinfa, Co-founder of Triangle Nigeria, explained that the idea behind presenting a Home Cinema to the Motherless Home stemmed from their desire to use technology to connect people and make a positive difference in their lives. This initiative marks the fifth-year anniversary of the organization.
In their goodwill messages, AVM Anthony Ekpere (Rtd) CFR, representing the Lions Club, and Mr. Akintunde Oyebode, the Ekiti State Commissioner for Finance, praised Triangle Nigeria for their benevolent gesture towards the less fortunate, highlighting their social consciousness and awareness.
AVM Okpere and Mr. Oyebode called on well-Nigerians to support the Ministry of Youth and Social Development in their efforts to assist the less privileged in society.
