A planned protest by some Nollywood actors and fans in honour of the late former Marlian signee and musical artist, Mohbad, has been cancelled following a request from the Lagos State government.
However, it was called off at the last minute due to concerns over safety, as there were fears it could be hijacked by hoodlums. Similar protests in other states, including Abeokuta, raised safety concerns.
In light of the cancellation, some personnel of the Nigeria Police Force and the Lagos Neighbourhood Watch were present at the convergence point at Oba Akran Road this morning to maintain law and order.
To memorialise the young talent’s memory, a candlelight parade and tribute performance have been scheduled on Thursday, September 21, 2023.
The procession will begin at the Lekki Phase 1 gate and will end at Muri Okunola Park VI, where the tribute concert will be held tomorrow.
Attendees are encouraged to dress in white
