The Epe Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association has condemned in its entirety the outrageous killing of a female lawyer , Bolanle Raheem, by Police officers attached to Ajiwe Police station on Christmas Day, 25th December, 2022.
This was made known in a statement forwarded to the Press by Ayo Ademiluyi, the Publicity Secretary of the Branch and signed by Mr. Omotayo Omosehin and Mr. Oladotun Hassan, the Chairman and Secretary of the Epe Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association respectively
The statement viewed the killing as one too many by officers of the Nigeria Police Force. The statement further stated that the Epe Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association as part of the quest to demand justice for the departed colleague has linked up with other Branches of the Association in Lagos State in gathering at the Ajiwe Police Station with other lawyers as from 10am this morning.
The statement further asserted that while the news of the arrest and transfer of the suspected Police officers to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department is welcome, there is need to ensure that they are thoroughly investigated and prosecuted .
The Branch extends her heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Bolanle Raheem.
