The commissioning of the Ikeja Branch Secretariat was a quiet event, this was so in view of the Novel Corona virus, Covid-19 pandemic across the country.
However, it was nevertheless a colourful event, as it hosted some of the cream de la creme of the legal profession in Nigeria. In attendance were: The president of Africa’s largest Bar, Mr. Paul Usoro, SAN, the immediate past Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Lagos State, Mr. Adeniji Kazeem,SAN, the incumbent Attorney General and commissioner of Justice Lagos State, Moyosore Onigbanjo,SAN, former National Secretary of the NBA and former Chairman of Ikeja Branch, Deacon Dele Adesina, SAN, Mr. Tunde Adejuyigbe, SAN, Former 2nd National Vice President and Branch Chairman, Mr Monday Ubani, former Chairmen Mr. Yinka Farounbi, Mr. Adesina Ogunlana and a host of others.
During the time for speeches, the Chairman of Ikeja branch, Prince Dele Oloke while giving his speech thanked all former Chairmen of Ikeja branch and commended them for their different roles in making today a reality. He mentioned the fact that he did not do this alone, but he rode on the structures laid down by Chairmen before him.
While addressing the audience as well, the chairman of the branch as at the time the foundation of the branch was laid, Mr. Adekunle Ojo, thanked all the successive Chairmen that came after him for building on the legacy he had the privilege to start.
He thanked specially the Lagos State Government for their contribution, and in a very special way, the Judiciary as well; as they have both been very generous towards the completion of the branch secretariat.
Also, present to represent the Chief Judge of Lagos State was Hon. Justice Onyeabor.
It was indeed a well and richly attended event.
