NBA Ikeja Chairman Rescues Motorist from LASTMA’s Unjust Penalty

The Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Ikeja Branch, Seyi Olawumi Esq., demonstrated his commitment to justice today when he intervened in an incident involving a Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) official. On his way to the burial of former NBA Ikeja Chairman, Adesina Ogunlana, Mr. Olawumi noticed a LASTMA officer attempting to unfairly penalize a motorist who had been caught on a yellow line during traffic, while allowing other commercial drivers to pass without consequence. This incident happened along Obafemi Awolowo way into Agidingbi road.

With fellow NBA Ikeja members by his side, Mr. Olawumi approached the situation calmly but firmly, stepping in to question the fairness of the official’s actions. After a brief exchange, the LASTMA officer, who initially resisted, reconsidered and chose to let the motorist go.

The motorist, visibly relieved, expressed heartfelt thanks to the chairman and the lawyers for standing up for him when it mattered most.
