The Minna Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association is organising her 2022 Law week.
With the theme- Law and Democracy; Progress, Challenges and Prospects, the week commencing from the 3rd day of June 2022 to the 9th day of June 2022 is packed with a plethora of very Engaging Activities.
The law week commenced on Friday, the 3rd day of June 2022 with Jummaat prayers at the Minna Central mosque wherein payers were offered for the bar and nation at large.
A packed press conference followed by 4pm outlining the activities for the week. Saturday, the 5th day of June featured a road walk, as well as cocktail party and barbecue night. This was followed by a thanksgiving service at the cathedral church of St. Peters Minna on Sunday, the 5th day of June 2022.
The opening ceremony is billed for 10am of Monday, the 6th day of June 2022, wherein the Executive Governor of Niger State will be in attendance as the special guest of honor.
The learned silk Garba Tetengi SAN, Mni is expected to deliver a keynote address on the theme, followed by paper presentations by Chief Mammam Mike Osuman SAN, FCIArb and Muhammad Sani Katun SAN respectively.
Tuesday, the 7th day of June 2022 will feature presentations by the Learned Silks Mohammed Ndayako SAN, MCIArb and Jacob Johnson Usman SAN respectively.
The branch will embark on a sensitization rally on Wednesday the 8th day of June 2022 to two secondary schools educating the youngsters on drug use and abuse in collaboration with the NDLEA.
Sporting events including a football match, badminton and indoor games are slated for Tuesday and Wednesday, the 7th and 8th day of June 2022, before culminating in a dinner and awards night slated for the night of Thursday, the 9th day of June 2022.
The law week promises to be as enlightenment as it would be entertaining.
