I convey my endorsement for the candidature of Mr. Dele Adesina SAN as a Presidential Candidate in the forthcoming Nigerian Bar Association Election. Mr. Adesina is a bundle of experience not only as a former Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Ikeja Branch and former General Secretary of the Bar but also as a very active member of the National Executive Committee and the Distinguished Body of Benchers. Mr. Adesina is very progressive and practical. He will never sit on the fence on any issue. He was one of the great supporters of my administration when I was President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA). The Administration made an impressive mark on Rule of Law and obedience to Court Orders. I recall he was the Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association, Ikeja Branch at the time.
Mr. Adesina to me has demonstrated beyond measure that he is a leader with a difference. He has enormous respect for other Leaders and he has listening ears. He is a democrat with good respect for the opinion of others, even when that opinion may not have favoured him. I do not expect anyone will challenge his election at this time. I wish to state that having regard to what he has contributed to the Profession and the various roles he has played in the NBA as well as his well-known capacity in leadership, I believe he will add value not only to the Association in particular but also to the Profession in general. As a past President, the truth is that the Nigerian Bar Association needs him at this time.
I enjoin all those who want the best for our Association to vote for him.
