At the Nigerian Bar Association’s Annual General Meeting on August 28, 2024, a special tribute was paid to several distinguished members who passed away over the past year. The association observed a minute of silence to honour their memory, reflecting on the significant contributions of these revered individuals.
Among those remembered were Past Presidents; Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, CON, SAN, and Chief Charles Imatitikua Idehen, who both left a lasting legacy in the legal profession. Akeredolu, the Governor of Ondo State, passed away on December 27, 2023, while Idehen was buried on May 3, 2024. The NBA also mourned the loss of other prominent figures, including His Royal Majesty Oba Ajibola Raphael Oluyede, who died on December 29, 2023, and several other senior members, such as Evang D.O.C Ezeigwe and Godwin Madubuko Esq. The recent deaths of Okey Owhonda, Adesina Ogunlana, and Jude Ezegwui were also sadly acknowledged, marking a year of profound loss for the NBA.
