NBA WARRI BRANCH ROLLS OUT PALLIATIVE TO MEMBERS

On the 7th of April, 2020, the Chairman of NBA Warri branch Michael A. Asugo Esq., set up a Committee to provide some palliatives to young lawyers and vulnerable seniors in the Branch. The Committee under the leadership of F. C. Okala Esq., worked tirelessly to deliver on their mandate. As a result of their effort, the Branch raised some money from the generous donations made by all the Senior Advocates of Nigeria in Warri, Udu and Effurun Branches led by Chief T.J. O. Okpoko, SAN, OON. Other prominent members of the Branch and friends of the Branch also contributed in cash and kind. The friends of Olu Akpata also donated bags containing food items to the Branch.

On the 14th day of April, 2020, the Branch through the Palliatives Committee started the distribition of the bags containing food items like rice, beans, garri, yams, salt, groundnut oil, tin tomatoes e.t.c to young lawyers and other members of branch who are vulnerable and in need of assistance as a result of the COVID 19 lockdown.

It is strongly believed that this welfare measure will help to mitigate the hardship likely to be faced by young lawyers and vulnerable seniors in the Branch as a result of the lockdown.

While thanking all those who contributed generously to the effort of the Branch, members are encouraged to abide by the guidelines issued by the State Government to avoid the spread of the corona virus in Delta State by washing their hands regularly with soap, staying at home and practising social distancing.
