The Nigeria Police have apprehended and detained three members of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps for shooting two students from the Senior Secondary School in Life Camp, within the Jabi and Gwarinpa areas of the Federal Capital Territory.
The NSCDC personnel injured the two students who are now undergoing treatment at Gwarinpa Hospital.
Subsequent to the shooting, enraged high school students damaged three NSCDC patrol vehicles in protest against the attack on their fellow students.
The incident took place around 11:20 am on Wednesday while the NSCDC personnel, assigned to the FCT Command, were ensuring security during an ongoing examination at the school.
SP Josephine Adeh, the FCT Police spokesperson, confirmed the occurrence, stating that the police had successfully restored peace in the affected area.
Adeh mentioned, “The incident happened, but our operatives intervened in time to restore law and order, and the environment is now peaceful. Two injured students are currently receiving treatment, and the CP, Haruna Garba has ordered the commencement of an investigation into the incident.”
