Mazi Afam Osigwe SAN, a distinguished legal professional, holds LL.M degrees from the University of Jos and the Lazarsky University, Poland. He’s a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK) and has extensive experience in various legal roles. His contributions to the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) are notable, having served in multiple capacities, including as Chairman of the Abuja Branch and General Secretary of the NBA.
With a commitment to diversity and inclusion, Afam advocates for policies that engage all demographics of the legal profession. He envisions a fair and inclusive Bar that supports lawyers’ welfare, encourages their growth, and ensures no discrimination.
Afam’s professional expertise spans advisory and litigation services in banking, commercial transactions, intellectual property, and financial crimes. As the Senior Partner of LAW FORTE, he leads a firm offering legal, arbitration, and notarial services. Additionally, he’s a prolific writer, speaker, and analyst, having presented papers at numerous legal conferences.
Afam is a member of the International Bar Association, Nigerian Institute of Management, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK), and Institute of Chartered Mediators & Conciliators, and he is also an Associate Member of the American Bar Association. He was conferred with the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria in December 2020.
