Let us take a moment to acknowledge the colossal role men play in our society. Despite facing hefty responsibilities without excuses, their pains, fears, and contributions often go unnoticed. It is time we shift the focus from the negatives to the positives.
During my campaign for the office of General Secretary, I experienced overwhelming support from male lawyers, my champions. Today, men are actively championing for women, fostering an inclusive and collaborative environment. To all the male legal practitioners, you are deeply valued and appreciated for the positive influence you bring to the world, your families, communities, and the legal profession. Your dedication and contributions do not go unnoticed.
As we celebrate, take a moment for yourselves. Prioritise continuous self-improvement and safeguard your mental health. Remember, your well-being is just as important as the responsibilities you shoulder. I urge you to speak out, communicate effectively with others, and do not hesitate to seek support when needed. It is okay not to be okay. In the legal profession, as in life, your mental health matters.
My male champions, I urge us to look forward to a future where all spheres of the legal profession are even more diverse and inclusive. Your influence and dedication are instrumental in achieving this vision.
