President Muhammadu Buhari kept it short and straight to the point as he endorsed Bola Tinubu at the APC presidential rally in Lagos on Tuesday
The 80-year-old Nigerian leader, who flew in from Addis Ababa on Monday to attend the APC rally, appeared tired as he sat for most of the event but came alive during his endorsement speech.
The speech which lasted for only a few minutes started with the president raising the hands of Tinubu and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Endorsing the APC candidates, Buhari said: “I have the honor to raise the hands of the next president of Nigeria Bola Tinubu, and the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Congratulations and I wish APC the very best of luck. Thank you very much.”
After endorsing Tinubu, President Buhari also raised the hand of Kassim Shettima.
Buhari said: “Asiwaju has explained to you. He knew him. Congratulations.”
After the endorsements by Buhari, the national anthem was read and the rally came to a glorious end.
