The Kano State High Court on Tuesday sentenced one Aminu Inuwa to death by hanging for killing his wife, Safarau
Aminu Inuwa, a resident of Gwazaye Quarters, Dorayi Babba, was charged for slaughtering his with a knife.
He was convicted on a one-count charge of culpable homicide contrary to Section 221 of the Penal Code.
The Judge, Justice Usman Naabba, held that the prosecution proved its case beyond reasonable doubt and consequently sentenced the convict to death by hanging.
Earlier, the prosecution counsel, Lamido Sorondinki, informed the court that the suspect committed the offence on April 2, 2019, at Gwazaye Quarters of Dorayi Babba.
Sorondinki explained that before the murder, at about 12pm the suspect had a misunderstanding with his wife.
