Yinka Edu is a Partner in the firm’s Banking & Finance team and heads the firm’s FinTech and Capital Markets teams. She has been involved in various FinTech, financial and capital markets transactions.
She regularly advises on regulatory and compliance issues in connection with banking (including fintech and mobile money) and capital market assignments, many of which, being innovative or new to Nigeria, often require skilled liaison with
our regulatory authorities, and was a core member of the team that advised several local banks with the 2008 banking
consolidation mergers.
She also routinely advises on competition law and consumer protection issues in Nigeria. Yinka was president of the Capital Markets Solicitors Association. Yinka also heads the U-Law team at UUBO. U-Law is a contemporary tech-based legal solution that caters exclusively to startups and growing businesses in Nigeria and is designed as a one-stop shop for all small and medium-scale business-related needs. U-law also provides insights on various legal issues through our articles and U-Law spaces, an online program hostedby U-law on Twitter Spaces and Clubhouse.
Yinka advises on banking and lending products with technological features, crowdfunding projects and cryptocurrencies in Nigeria.
